is the second largest collection of early manuscripts, with over 1000 manuscripts in 11 languages from the past 2000 years.

From the monasteries, we have the development of the university, from the idea that every single person should have the chance and ability to learn. In fact, many of the famous universities we know today were started by Christians and originally were cathedral schools to train lawyers and priests.

Modern Day Education

Just to name some that we know: Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Brown. Harvard. Harvard was founded in 1636, America’s first university, and it was named after John Harvard who was a clergyman. In the early years, the college trained ministers and clergymen.
